Good day everyone, hello! This is Maria Kaganovich, a marketer at Western Bid. In today’s article, I will try to predict the new trends for the year 26. Or rather, some of them are no longer so new, they’ve already started now in year 25 and are very popular, but from my point of view, they will continue to grow and develop in year 26. And some are completely new, just beginning now, with only some initial ideas — you probably haven’t even heard of them yet, but from my perspective, they will grow significantly in year 26.

Why is it important to know? Because you might be able to change something in your physical or digital products and make them more relevant, more interesting, by using these styles. In this article, I will tell you about seven such trends, and I will leave three more for our sponsors as a thank you for your support of the channel.

Trend 1: Rivets

The first trend is rivets. We already discussed rivets in year 25. You probably see them everywhere now, mainly on shoes and mostly on bags. For example, a small handbag or clutch, or sneakers — we see quite a lot of rivets. Almost all of them are round, but there are also star-shaped, gold, not only silver, and spikes. All this is very popular in year 25, but I think that this trend is moving into year 26 and crossing beyond bags and shoes. We’re starting to see more and more rivets on clothing, which I believe was not so common before. We’ve already started seeing them on belts, but now we are talking not only about such accessories, but about things that previously didn’t usually have rivets.

For example, sweaters. Rivets can be of different colors — not necessarily silver or gold, they can even match the color of the clothing, like gray or lilac. Rivets can be shaped like flowers, by the way, they can be embellishments or rhinestones, and all of this is very popular. But all of this is done in the form of such brooches or rivets on clothing.

Look: a brown leather mini-skirt with rivets; a dress with the same rivets; on jeans. But we also talk about various accessories — for example, hair accessories, even the simplest scrunchies with rivets added. Or, I don’t know, ear warmers also with rivets. Basically, anything you can imagine — I don’t know if you make collars, belts, anything — consider whether you can incorporate rivets into your products. By the way, in digital products, this also fits very well — here they look like small dots, outlined to resemble rivets.

Trend 2: Monochrome combinations

The next trend, which I also mentioned — monochrome, so to speak, where two very similar colors are combined, like dark green and light green. It can be a botanical theme, or just the same gingham, which has become very popular — a checkered, monochrome pattern with dark brown and light brown, or slightly blueish dark and light blue. The same applies to art, paintings — these monochrome artworks where only one or two colors are used, slightly dark and light, but the essence is that everything is monochrome and within the same tone.

Particularly popular, I must say, are brown and beige. These are two colors that go together, either as a beige background with dark brown elements, or vice versa, a brown background with light beige elements. For example, these fabric samples show patterns like checks, French styles, floral prints, and stripes. Overall, all of this.

These can be — I’m just showing on fabric examples, but in reality, this applies equally to digital products and invitations. Look: a terracotta-beige earthy tone, that orange-brown color, combined with beige. Keep in mind: never use a combination of white and brown this year; it doesn’t go, only beige with brown.

Here’s an example of a monochrome bag, which also features one modern trend — a brighter outline, and I think this will also carry over and persist into year 26. Naturally, our favorite pink on pink or red with pink, and bows. By the way, bows, I think, are already a bit overused — so many of them now. I won’t predict that bows will stay popular into year 26, but even if they do, they’re competing so much now that you want to stand out in another area, not just with this coquettish style.

Trend 3: Dark background with light colors

The third topic, which already started and was very popular in year 25, and which, in my opinion, is just gaining momentum — is dark backgrounds with light colors. Of course, you’ve probably seen many dresses like this, with bright flowers and some gaps between them, maybe even a lot of gaps.

In addition to flowers, there can be berries, and between them, black or dark blue or very dark green backgrounds. But I specifically show those color schemes that, from my point of view, will continue into year 26. Look: a combination of various colors — reds, greens, blues — this is an almost tropical or botanical theme in some cases. For instance, large roses on a dark blue background. Overall, this whole story of dark tones with light colors.

Here’s a bit more of a tropical theme, although it may not be strictly tropical, but generally, yes. Also suitable for wallpaper and digital products — just for style, invitations, greetings, etc. You understand, it can be applied to anything: textiles, bags, clothing.

Now, listen, this theme is starting to be used more extensively in other products. For example, in year 25, we didn’t see many shower curtains with such dark backgrounds, but now in year 26, I think there will be more and more. Or just regular curtains — I haven’t seen many in stores, but now they are increasing. Or dark pillows with light patterns.

Currently, a popular trend I must warn you about is William Morris style. Maybe you’ve heard of this artist. There are already many such tablecloths, and the demand for such items continues to grow. And, by the way, I wouldn’t say there’s huge competition on Etsy for curtains. I’ve looked around and don’t see an excess. I think in year 26, there will be even more.

And again, this applies not only to curtains or tablecloths but also to other products — the black background with bright flowers.

Trend 4: Cow print (brown-beige)

Let’s move to the next trend. It’s called cow print. A cow pattern, but not the usual black and white, but brown and light beige. Or white and beige, I don’t know, something like that.

Last year, we saw various cow prints — blue, pink, black. But now I want to focus on the year 26, with the brown-beige cow print. It includes rugs, furniture, bags. For example, a bag like this, shown in more than twenty cards, already priced at this level. And many other examples. Like cushions for the sofa, and various other items, basically rugs, whatever you want.

Western-style cowboy hats, shoes in the same style. My favorite store, where I look for trends — is Anthropologie. I also recommend you visit it periodically. Because, why worry about trends when you already have a great team of marketers doing this work? It’s a perfect way to get inspired.

Look: we see jackets, coats, shoes, scarves. Overall, the variety is already apparent, with richness of products. Mainly, in these items, you can see shades of brown, possibly reddish-brown and beige. All sorts of cow prints in every form: belts, boots. This is just beginning to gain momentum. I believe this trend will stay and even develop further into year 26.

Trend 5: Reindeer print (new trend)

Now, moving on to a trend that seems completely new to me. There are very few products on the market with this theme so far. I mentioned: we’ll talk about trends that are already emerging and developing and about totally new ones. This new one is reindeer. An animal print, but not just any animal print — reindeer.

Very few products with this pattern currently exist, and I can’t predict that this trend is a risk. But it seems so adorable and charming that it simply has to grow and develop. Look how it looks: a beige-reddish or grayish pattern. By the way, gray rugs like these look wonderful — as if snow is falling, like a little Bambi. You can understand what impressions this evokes.

This forest theme, so adorable and beautiful. Almost like a polka dot pattern, yes, pebbles. But still an animal theme. Honestly, it’s been hard for me to find many products in this theme because, again, it is just beginning, developing.

But also look, for instance, at a beige or gray rug. They can come in three colors: reddish-beige, gray, and darker brown. And shoes in this color scheme. We see it in backpacks, pillows — I may have surprised you with this theme, because here in the US, there aren’t many products in this color scheme yet.

So, it’s quite possible to try it. I think you won’t go wrong. For example, even UGGs — winter boots. Look how cute they are. The pattern is very charming and adorable. You can even find it in furniture and sofas, wallets, and bags. So, take this theme from me, I really hope it will work. I am sharing this prediction with you.

Trend 6: Puppies everywhere

Two more themes I want to share with you in this article are called “Puppies Everywhere.” Again, I’ll show this with the example of anthropologie, my favorite store. Just as an example of how dogs can really appear everywhere and on everything. Let’s see.

This theme actually started last fall, maybe late summer of year 25. But it hasn’t just stayed with us; it is rapidly developing. Because now these dogs are spreading, you know, onto different items. Just look at what they’re made on.

For example, a hair clip. Well, on T-shirts. Now also on curtains. They used to be on mugs. But now… And by the way, many different dog breeds — they can be dogs, or prints. Dogs on rugs. My goodness. Dogs on wallpaper. If they are printed on wallpaper, then this trend is definitely here to stay. It’s obvious, wallpapers are not changed every year. Well, everywhere, basically.

Dogs on sweaters. Look, even cute stands for photos, also with dogs. By the way, brooches. Charms, pendants. Basically, anything you can imagine. Corgis are very popular breeds. Pendants too. Great, very interesting.

Trend 7: Horses

The next theme. You might not be surprised to hear about it. But I just want to end on this note. Let’s talk about horses. Horses, our second dog. No, just kidding. Horses — that’s a different theme. The fact is that 26th year, according to the Chinese calendar, starting officially on February 17, will be the Year of the Horse.

I don’t know. I try not to make predictions that won’t come true. It’s called a ‘safe bet’ in English. I think horses will be very relevant in year 26. Moreover, look: again, wallpaper. These are horse-themed wallpapers.

Various belts in our favorite Western style. Western style. Again, such keychains that hang on shoes, and bags. And another keychain with a horse. Horses might also appear on sweaters. They can be in earrings. Look at these interesting earrings, right?

Golden still dominates over silver. Silver is very scarce. And most products are still in gold. I am afraid to predict that silver will become trendy in year 26 because I see almost no silver anywhere. I love silver myself, so I hope it will be more popular. But overall, gold is still more prevalent.

Additional remarks

By the way, don’t forget about checkered patterns. The checkerboard pattern remains in year 26. Just a side note. And also note — I’m adding a bit more about brooches. Brooches, brooches, brooches. Where do we hang these brooches? Not just on clothing anymore, as before. Now, definitely on bags and shoes. Brooches for shoes. So, horses, dogs, and all these items can be attached.

What visual trends will be especially relevant in 2026 for products and designs?

In 2026, already familiar directions will continue to develop actively: rivets and decorative elements, monochrome combinations of similar shades, dark backgrounds with light flowers. To these, more niche yet promising themes are added — brown-beige cow prints, animal prints, and ethnic motifs. These styles are easily adaptable for both physical goods and digital designs.

What new trends are just beginning to appear and might ‘explode’ in 2026?

Among fresh directions, especially stand out the deer print — soft, natural, very cozy visual in beige-reddish and gray shades. There are still very few such products, which makes this trend interesting for early entry. Additionally, there’s a growing interest in animal themes overall — dogs and horses appear literally everywhere: from accessories and clothing to decor and illustrations.

How to use 2026 trends to boost sales on Etsy?

The best results come from small, precise adjustments: updating the color palette, background, print details, or decorative elements. Trends can be gently integrated into existing products without completely changing the product. This approach helps refresh your assortment, stand out among competitors, and give your shop a more modern look without a major rebrand.

If you create art, illustrations, digital or physical products, please use these trends. I hope you’ll enjoy this topic. It’s interesting, cool, and new, and it will definitely help you in your sales efforts.
