About Western Bid
Western Bid is a merchant of record company that helps Ukrainian sellers accept payments from international buyers through PayPal, Shopify, Shopify Checkout, and other systems, as well as deliver their products to customers worldwide. Western Bid is an e-commerce platform that currently supports over 15,000 active Ukrainian sellers, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers who have scaled their sales globally thanks to our company.
The company was founded in 2001 in the USA. You can read the company’s story from the first person, founder Mykhailo Birman. Initially, Western Bid acted as an intermediary for Ukrainians selling on eBay. Over more than twenty years of operation, this bridge has grown into a full-fledged ecosystem for international e-commerce.
Today, we support sellers on Shopify, Etsy, eBay, Amazon, Walmart, Mercari, Bonanza, OfferUp, Poshmark, and Grailed, providing tools, infrastructure, and expertise necessary for successful overseas sales.
In 2008, we expanded support to Etsy sellers, opening doors for Ukrainian artisans and handmade goods producers. In 2017, we launched Western Bid Sales Academy — an online school teaching Ukrainian entrepreneurs to work with international markets. In 2019, an office was opened in Kyiv, and through partnerships with UPS, FedEx, DPD, and from 2025, with New Post, the company began shipping more than 3,000 parcels daily to over 100 countries worldwide.
In 2020, the network grew to 19 offices across Ukraine (after the full-scale invasion in 2022, most offices temporarily ceased operations).
In 2021, fulfillment center and West Parcel shipping service were launched. In 2023, the Western Bid Sellers Club was established — a community where Ukrainian entrepreneurs meet, share experiences, and support each other. Offline meetings have evolved and are held 3-5 times a year, not only in Kyiv.
Today, Western Bid operates from two offices in the USA (Miami and Minnesota), an office in Karlsruhe, Germany, and a network of offices in Ukraine. Over 20 years of operation, the company has processed more than 10 million shipments. Our mission remains unchanged: to give every Ukrainian access to international e-commerce and financial independence.
In 2025, Western Bid became the official logistics partner of Etsy in Ukraine.
