It all started with an ordinary outdoor advertising agency. The team produced various signs, large letters for building fa\u00e7ades. However, working in this field was constantly competitive, mainly fighting for pennies. It was exhausting, so Andriy began searching for something else, something new.<\/p>

\u201cInitially, I was interested in Amazon, but it turned out not to be as simple as it seems at first glance. Then I noticed an alternative \u2014 Etsy<\/strong>. I started reviewing other stores, analyzing the products they offered. Eventually, I realized that I wouldn\u2019t be able to send giant signs to the USA. I needed to come up with something small, compact, but also useful for people.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

Finally, the entrepreneur took on a very narrow niche \u2014 decided to produce signs and numbers<\/strong>. Wanting to make his products as interesting as possible, the team combined various materials: wood, stainless steel, acrylic glass. New designs were constantly developed. People liked it. The shop received numerous positive reviews for its products. That\u2019s when Andriy understood he was on the right track.<\/p>

\u201cIn fact, at that moment, we were competing only with ourselves, trying to become better than we were before, invent something unique, our own. The most interesting thing is that when we entered Etsy, we had no one to look up to. We were the first. We set the trends<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

The BsignStore<\/em> brand continues to hold the lead today. Many young companies worldwide base their work on it.<\/p>

\u201cI often see copies of our website. Some make them exactly the same, as if using Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V. They even upload our photos without permission. Others look up to us, but mostly create original products. We even stay connected with some and exchange experiences.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

While working with foreign clients, Andriy did not abandon the Ukrainian market. For some time they continued outdoor advertising and large signs, but eventually abandoned that to focus solely on numbers. The team traveled across Ukraine, communicated with hotels, design agencies, architectural bureaus. The largest customers were always residential complexes.<\/p>

\u201cWe don\u2019t produce anything supernatural. The best solution for us is our standard quality. If a product has a small scratch, dust particle, or chip, it is immediately rejected.<\/strong> We aim for every customer to receive an perfect order. That\u2019s our main goal.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

Unfortunately, perfection was not always achievable, especially immediately after opening the store. Sometimes orders worth thousands of dollars arrived completely shattered. The company reworked everything at its own expense. Mistakes also occurred due to oversight, such as mixing up shipments between clients. Still, Andriy always tried to resolve conflicts with dignity.<\/p>

\u201cThere were also scammers trying to trick us out of a small amount, usually $50\u2013$60, for supposedly lost goods or returns because they didn\u2019t like the product. I always thought it was better to refund them and move on so that their complaints wouldn\u2019t hinder our development.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

Shopify Store<\/h2>

The problems gradually were resolved. The Etsy store developed and generated income. However, no matter how golden the platform, it remained completely uncontrolled by the seller.<\/p>

\u201cYou could be shut down at any moment. Or an unhappy customer might start blackmailing you, and although as a manufacturer you might be right a hundred times, your hands are tied because the marketplace usually sides with the consumer.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

Andriy saw the solution in developing his own website<\/strong>. The idea was inspired by Oleksandr Radich<\/strong>\u2019s speech at one of the conferences. Andriy purchased a course on creating a website on Shopify<\/strong>. The first orders took about five months to arrive. The situation started moving forward after the team launched a mailout to Etsy customers.<\/p>

\u201cI was incredibly happy when we received the first order. It happened on the day of the email launch… But it all took a very long time to grow. There were many trials and errors. A lot of money was spent on advertising, which ultimately didn\u2019t bring the desired results.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

Later, Andriy connected Google Merchant<\/strong> and started working with professional SEO contractors. After five years of persistent effort, the site finally started generating more income than the marketplace.<\/p>

\u201cI was simply obsessed with the idea of my website, wanted to move away from Etsy. And now I realize that everything has come true. Yes, it was hard, there were moments I wanted to give up everything, but I didn\u2019t give up. As a result \u2014 I have my own website and do what I love, which brings me not only profit but also satisfaction.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>
